INTRODUCTION

16 April 2014: This is to inform all Italy applicants that 18 and 21 April 2014 has been declared Holiday in celebration of the Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively by Federal Government of Nigeria.

The Italy Visa Application Centre will remain closed on these days.
Normal business activities resumes on 22 April 2014.


7 August 2013: Applicants are hereby informed that they do not need to have prior appointment at the Visa Application Centre either in Lagos or Abuja before submitting their visa applications; neither do they require any support from an "Agent" to do so. They are advised to simply walk in to the centre of their choice and submit their visa applications accordingly.

Note: - Long Stay applications will be accepted only on Thursday's at Lagos Visa Application Centre wherein no prior appointment is required.

VFS has been appointed as an outsourced partner by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to facilitate the submission of your visa application

This website contains all information concerning the procedures and details about the submission of visa applications, so visa applicants are strongly recommended to carefully read all sections of this web site in order to identify the type of visa meeting their requirement at best. It has to be noted that all visa applications have to be submitted at the Italian visa application center in Lagos or Abuja.

How to find out if your visa is ready

Dear Applicants,

For any First Time Travel Applicants, minimum time taken to process visa application would be 25 calendar days and maximum 40 calendar days.

For any Frequent Travel Applicants, minimum time taken to process visa application would be 15 calendar days and maximum 25 calendar days.

You may also check by calling VFS Helpdesk at 01 - 3427734 between 9am to 4pm on any working days except Saturdays and Sundays and any Holidays or track your application on our website by clicking this link.

Kindly note that neither VFS nor the Consulate General of Italy would be held responsible for applicant not picking up their passports whenever they are ready for collection at VFS Global Services Nigeria Ltd and will not be responsible for any decision/passport delays from the Consulate General of Italy.

Also if the applicant does not collect the processed passports from VF Global visa application centers within 90 days from the date they are received from the Consulate General of Italy the passports would be returned back to the Consulate General of Italy.
