VFS has been appointed as an outsourced partner by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to facilitate the visa applications and legalization of documents and to schedule appointments for visa submission and legalization of Nigerian certificates.
This website contains all information concerning the procedures for appointment booking for long term visa application as well as details about the submission of visa applications, so visa applicants are strongly recommended to carefully read all sections of this web site in order to identify the type of visa meeting their requirement at best. It has to be noted that all visa applications have to be submitted at the Italian visa and legalization application center in Lagos.
How to find out if your visa is ready
Dear Applicants,
For any First Time Travel Applicants, minimum time taken to process visa application would be 25 calendar days and maximum 40 calendar days.
For any Frequent Travel Applicants, maximum time taken to process visa application would be 15 calendar days and maximum 25 calendar days.
You may also check by calling VFS Helpdesk at 01- 8990285 between 9am to 4pm on any working days except Saturdays and Sundays and any Holidays or track your application on our website by clicking this link.
Kindly note that neither VFS nor the Consulate General of Italy would be held responsible for applicant not picking up their passports whenever they are ready for collection at VFS.
Kindly be informed that all passports lying in any one of the VFS centers eithr in Lagos or in Abuja for more than 90 days and not yet collected by applicants will be returned back to Consulate General of Italy , Lagos with an immediate effect.Henceforth, passports lying at VFS for more than 90 days from the day it arrives at VFS but not collected by applicant will be given back to Consulate General of Italy.
