  1. I am traveling to multiple Schengen countries. From which Consulate should I apply for my Schengen visa?
    Schengen visa must be applied from The Embassy / The Consulate of the country where you will be staying for maximum number of days. If your stay has equal number of days in each country then you must apply to The Embassy / The Consulate of the country which would serve as the first port of entry.

  2. How can I apply for an Italian Visa.
    Effective from 15th sep 2008, Italian visa and legalization application center ( IVLAC )will accept the documents on behalf of the consulate general of Italy, Lagos. You are required to schedule an appointment before submitting your documents at IVLAC. For more information click here.

  3. Can I make an appointment by calling on the call center?
    No , you can only make the appointment online

  4. Do I need to pay any kind of fee for making an appointment?
    Yes , You need to pay the service fee at any of the Guaranty Bank branches. Please carry a photocopy of the 1st page of the applicant. Appointment needs to be taken for both submission of application and also for submission of legalization documents.

  5. If Iam not able to come to the IVLAC on the appointed date for the submission of the documents. Can I schedule another appointment? Do I need to pay the service fee again?
    If by any reason you are not able to come on the appointed date to submit your application we would request you to cancel the appointment at least 2 days prior. Incase you do not cancel the appointment, you need to schedule a fresh appointment and pay the service fee and bank charges again

  6. Do I need to apply personally?
    Yes, applicant is required to submit the application personally at the IVLAC .

  7. What should I do after submitting the Visa/Legalization application?
    Log on to the website, http://www.italy-ng.com or call our Contact Centre on 01- 4628934 to check your application status. It is advisable to check the application status only after the average processing time mentioned by the officer

  8. Will I be called for an interview?
    Consulate general of Italy holds a right to call the applicant for a personal interview. If the applicant is called for an interview following message will be displayed while checking your application status.

    " (Applicant Name) is invited for an interview by The Consulate General of Italy, Lagos. Please schedule the same at the earliest either online or by coming in person to The Italy Visa Application Centre in Lagos

  9. Where do I need to go for the interview?
    You need to go to the following address :

  10. What do I need to carry for the interview?
    Interview letter and any additional documents requested by the consulate general of Italy

  11. Where do I collect my passport from after the visa has been processed?
    You need to collect the passport from the application center between 0100- 1400hrs (Monday-Friday except holidays). You need to bring you invoice come receipt that was issued to you at the time of submission of documents.

  12. What if my visa is refused? Is the visa fee and service charge refundable
    Neither the visa fee nor the service charge is refundable.

  13. What should I do after submitting of documents for legalization?
    When you submit the documents at IVLAC for legalization, you will be scheduled for an interview at the consulate general of Italy, Lagos. You are requested to go to the consulate on the prescribed date and time and carry the interview letter issued at the time of submission.
