VFS has been appointed as an outsourced partner by the Italian Ministry of
Foreign Affairs in order to facilitate the visa applications and legalization
of documents and to schedule appointments for visa submission and legalization
of Nigerian certificates.
Effective 15th September 2008 you can pay the service charge at GT bank
branches and take an appointment for the submission of your documents for the
Italian Visa at the Italy visa & legalization application center, Lagos.
Visa applicants and people requiring certificate legalization can now easily,
quickly and safely book their appointments on-line at their own convenience
before coming to the application center.
This web site are contains all information concerning the procedures for
appointment booking as well as details about the submission of visa
applications , so visa applicants are strongly recommended to carefully read
all sections of this web site in order to identify the type of visa meeting
their requirement at best. It has to be noted that all visa applications have
to be submitted at the at the Italian visa and legalization application center
in Lagos.
Important to note:
The application for a Schengen visa has to be made in the Consulate of the
country where the MAIN PURPOSE OF TRAVEL lies. Therefore, please check your
travel plans before making your application . In case you are planning to
travel to multiple Schengen countries, please make your application to the
Consulate where you are going to stay for a longer time.
As of 21st December 2007, nine European countries (the Czech Republic, Estonia,
Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia) have joined
the Schengen Agreement. This means that the Schengen area includes now 24
European Countries: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia,
Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania,
Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia,
Slovenia, Spain and Sweden. New regulations have been established and the visa
processing time has lengthened to two weeks.
Applicants are therefore recommended to schedule their appointments well in
advance in order to be able to submit their application at least 15 days before
the expected date of departure.
Any inconvenience ensued by this new regulation is deeply regretted.
