  • I am traveling to multiple Schengen countries. From which Consulate should I apply for my Schengen visa?

    Schengen visa must be applied from The Embassy / The Consulate of the country where you will be staying for maximum number of days. If your stay has equal number of days in each country then you must apply to The Embassy / The Consulate of the country which would serve as the first port of entry.

  • How can I apply for an Italian Visa?

    Effective from 15 September 2008, Italian visa application center ( IVAC )will accept the applications on behalf of the consulate general of Italy, Lagos.

  • Do I need to apply personally?

    Yes, applicant is required to submit the application personally at the IVAC.

  • What should I do after submitting the Visa application?

    Log on to the website, or call our Contact Centre on 0815 018 8800 to check your application status. It is advisable to check the application status only after the average processing time mentioned by the officer

  • Will I be called for an interview?

    Consulate General of Italy holds a right to call the applicant for a personal interview. If the applicant is called for an interview following message will be displayed while checking your application status.

    " (Applicant Name) is invited for an interview by The Consulate General of Italy, Lagos. Please schedule the same at the earliest either online or by coming in person to The Italy Visa Application Centre in Lagos

  • What do I need to carry for the interview?

    Additional documents requested by the consulate general of Italy

  • Where do I collect my passport from after the visa has been processed?

    You need to collect the passport from the application center between 11:00hrs- 16:00hrs at Lagos and 8:00hrs-15:00hrs at Abuja (Monday-Friday except holidays). You need to bring you invoice cum receipt that was issued to you at the time of submission of documents.

  • What if my visa is refused? Is the visa fee and service charge refundable?

    Neither the visa fee nor the service charge is refundable.

  • Can I send my representative with authority letter for collection of my passport after service has been rendered?

    No, you cannot. All applicants have to come personally to collect their individual passports. Even if husband and wife applied together, they have to come individually to collect their individual passports. No representative with authority letter will be entertained unless and until, there is a written directive from concerned visa section and from concerned person of Consulate General of Italy to handover passports against authority letter.
